I was in third grade when I first learned about the miracle of birth by watching a calf being born. I ran home in excitement to tell my mom who was a labor and delivery nurse. Birth videos and discussion were common in my home growing up, and after moving to Australia, my mother became a midwife under a wonderfully detailed program. This inspired my interest in a career in midwifery, and after pursuing a degree in Biology with a Bachelor of Science and becoming pregnant with my first child in 2011, I got certified as a birth doula. After becoming a birth doula, I realized that my true passion was midwifery. I began the Association of Texas Midwives educational program to become a midwife in 2012 and have enjoyed every step of the journey.

I look for the joy in everyday moments and love meeting clients that become cherished friends. Appreciating every persons uniqueness and talents enriches the day-to-day moments and is something that is important to me.

Having lived and traveled internationally, I enjoy working with and supporting individuals from a variety of cultures and lifestyles. I am always excited to learn and hire translation assistants as needed. I am willing to travel for births, including internationally, for an additional fee.

I’ve had the benefit of several apprenticeships under midwives who practice different forms of midwifery including homebirth, birth centers, holistic midwifery and medicalized midwifery. In addition to operating Serenity Midwifery, I also assist several midwives in East Texas and throughout the DFW area.

It is my priority to provide quality care to all birthing individuals and to be a supportive advocate to those in the LGBTQIA+ community.
