Will my insurance cover midwifery services?

Serenity Midwifery works closely with an insurance billing company that can easily verify a client’s benefits. Insurance companies are beginning to see the value in midwifery care, and hopefully this trend continues to improve. Midwifery care from companies that cover it is handled by reimbursement, meaning that clients are responsible for paying for care in full prior to birth, but can be reimbursed by their insurance company after billing is submitted.

To determine the probability that your particular company and plan reimburses, visit the following website to submit your information for a verification of benefits.

Will medicaid cover midwifery services?

Medicaid may cover a midwife through a licensed birth center. At this time they DO NOT cover a homebirth. While the midwife, Jennifer, has had many clients have medicaid as a backup insurance, they are still required to pay cash for services with the understanding medicaid doesn’t cover services except a recommended ultrasound.
